Ecuador is a country straddling the equator on South America’s west coast and is also called as “the belly button of the planet.”

- La Costa: This region is prone to many eruptions, as Ecuador sits on the side of the Ring of Fire, under the Nazca and South American Plate. Sangay and Reventador have erupted in 2016, and Cotopaxi, a famous volcano, lies is in a restless state.

- La Oriente: The inland Amazonia is highly dense with plants and animals making it the most biodiverse country per square kilometre.
- Insula : The Galapagos islands islands are 900 km west off of Ecuador’s coast. It is also a world heritage site. One law is that you are not allowed to touch the animals, but the animals are allowed to touch you.
